What funds win when the market is losing?
They’re called bear market funds, and as the name suggests, they go up when the market is goes down.
So it’s no wonder that they’re topping the mutual fund hit parade of late.
But beware. When the market recovers, these belles of the bear ball will turn ugly fast. Typically, bear funds post significant losses when stocks gain ground.
So while you might consider investing a small portion of your savings in a bear fund to hedge against market downturns, don’t use them to try to time the market.
