Speaker: Joining us now to help break down how Obama's healthcare plan might affect you is Jill Schlesinger, Editor at Large for CBS Money Watch.com. Good morning, Jill.

Speaker: Let's tell everybody what we've done. We've sort of come up with three scenarios, three real people who are each affected a little differently by this proposal and hopefully, therefore, illustrate how each one of you may be affected. Let's start first with Debbie Smith from Virginia. Now, Debbie lost her job back in 2006 and lost her healthcare benefits, and says that she can't afford the $700.00 a month that it would cost to pay for her own insurance. Jill, she is really the prototypical person that this proposal would help, isn't she?

>> Jill Schlesinger: Absolutely. She represents the 46 or 47 million Americans who don't have healthcare right now. So what's gonna happen through this plan is that Debbie will have access to, hopefully, affordable health care. And you see that she has no income right now. Part of this plan will provide credits to people who have low income, 43 thousand dollars or less for individuals, 88 thousand dollars for families. The other thing about Debbie is she has a pre-existing condition that's pretty serious. Under the plan, she cannot be excluded from health care because of that pre-existing condition. So I think Debbie really ends up benefiting quite beautifully from the new healthcare plan.

Speaker: But she does so, critics of this proposal say, at the expense of the next two people that we're going to show. First of all, small business owner, Letty -- let me get her last name right -- Hudson. She's from Chicago, and she says that she would love to offer her employees healthcare benefits, but she can't afford it because she can't find an affordable group plan. Under this proposal, though, if she doesn't offer them health care, she's gonna pay for it.

>> Jill Schlesinger: Yes. You see that Letty has 35 employees, and actually the payroll of her company, she noted, was 900 thousand dollars. So that's actually a pretty hefty amount. Under the House plan, if she does not provide healthcare coverage for her employees, she will be charged eight percent of that 900 thousand dollar payroll. So it's -- and if you have 250 thousand dollars or less in payroll, nothing, between 250 and 800, some surcharge, but above that level, a -- that's a pretty whopping number, eight percent.

Speaker: Um-hum.

>> Jill Schlesinger: Now, on the other side, the thing that's kind of nice is maybe there will be more affordable healthcare-

Speaker: Group plans.

>> Jill Schlesinger: Group plans that she could offer. So I think that she's really caught in the net here. This is gonna be tough one.

Speaker: All right. Lastly, Doctor Trick Gordon from New York. He has his own practice. He already health care and benefits to his employees, but under this new plan, he could wind up paying the most, couldn't he?

>> Jill Schlesinger: Well, he has the fortunate and unfortunate ability to earn 350 thousand dollars. Under the House plan, anyone who makes more than 350 thousand as a family will have a surcharge of one percent.

Speaker: One percent of his income?

>> Jill Schlesinger: Of his income. We don't know -- by the way, Nancy Pelosi said maybe she's gonna bump that to 500 thousand for individuals and a million for families. He'll pay a personal income tax on top of what he's already paying. So he might pay more, but again, he already offers coverage, so his employees should be fine.

    Media is Stupid About Health Care

    Take a look at how well the government is running Medicaide. I have a relative who can not even find a doctor to take her on as a client because she has medicaide and the payments from the government are over 6 months behind. Because of this no doctors want medicaide patients.

    This also causes a situation where medicaire recipients cause huge bills in emergency rooms because they can not be seen by a normal doctor. The Government through its medicair policies costs the taxpayers even more money when people have to go to the emergency room to be treated.

    Also what happens when O'Bamma passes a bill forcing the employers to pay for Universal Health Care? This makes 2/3rd of your arguments null and void.

    To top that off I do not believe the U.S. Government estimates of the cost. Do you? You can probably multiply any estimated Government costs by a factor of 10 or more. Someone has to administer the plan, and then someone will have to investigate the cheaters.

    I would like to know how much the estimate for Medicaide is and how much the government went over the estimate? Do you even look at historical data? Do you have any intelligence? If this is passed how will the media be getting its health care when your current health care becomes illegal? How much will all the free abortions cost?

    RE: Health Care Reform: How It Affects You

    It tends to make a lot of good people despondent and at the least susceptible, when they read, watch and listen to the maverick storm of media ads, thumping down President Obama's health care initiative? Much of the rambling artifacts are the Simon and Lois ads of the Clinton administration, heavily armed against any revisions in this issue that wealthy insurance companies and subsidiaries won?t tolerate.

    They insulted the senior citizens with their propaganda and bald faced lies about the European government run health care system. Being originally an Englishman myself, I guarantee in the 1960's, we had a unique form of medical services, inclusive of eye and teeth. It did plummet down somewhat, when business starting recruiting foreign labor from the commonwealth and Northern Europe. Many were out for a free financial ride and got it, along with their large families that British citizens have to support with their limited pounds sterling.

    Just as the anti-governmental health care extremists have been pounding the airwaves, the open border, globalist is now subjecting the American people to a torrent of inflaming immigration polls. But like all polls they can be intentional manipulated, in exactly how the questions are worded? Sure they can keep their co-pays, deductibles and pre-existing small-print clauses, squeezing every penny from a hurting economy, but tell the--BLOODY TRUTH!

    It's a sad fact that you cannot trust the Liberal slant regarding this searing problem, although not all Liberals are favorable to another AMNESTY? The Democratic leadership, hiding liberal views behind closed drapes tried to annihilate any good, workable illegal immigration enforcement laws. In an earlier session of the Senate an error was made with E-Verify, so it's was fortunate to survive Sen. Reid and Pelosi?s notion? Anything that has an impact on removing illegal immigrants is intercepted by business oriented free traders.

    GOOGLE---illegal immigration--to find out their sinister intention, to just throw open the gates, ports and airline entrances to cheap labor, that also become the downfall of the European Union. the polling I have seen has been calculatedly --ENGINEERED--to get results, that they can brandish around, declaring the majority of Americans believe in a path to citizenship and open borders? Already the Democrats are ready to flag the Save Act, 287(g) local police enforcement to weaken these laws.

    Currently both issues have heavy fallout, and you the voter should let your Senator or Representative know your opinion on either matter at 202-224-3121---BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. Both have massive consequences in costs and quality of life in your future and generations to come.WE MUST SAY NO AMNESTY! SEAL OUR BORDERS AND NO MORE FREEBIES TO ILLEGAL ALIENS.
