We got a chance to bring in real estate gur-ess and MoneyWatch blogger Alison Rogers for “Ask the Experts” and not a moment too soon! Ali helped us get to the bottom of the rotten housing starts numbers and we even got to play a little Elvis Costello in her honor! Second entry, I'm on dial up..so this really takes time, however..I understood everything perfectly. First off I really liked this segment. Second, it gave me much more to go on as to incorporate in other areas of our situation and the heading. Thank Alison for me. She was very versed and forthcoming. Your show is noteworthy and I plan on attendance each week. I cannot go into opionion at this point and at this page but you can be assured that it will meld appropriately in future comments. I look forward to much more and as always my support..jim

Alison discussed the pro's and con's of refinancing now. Assuming I will be in my current home for at least 10 more years is there an interest rate threshold that if exceeded I should refinance. I believe Alison referenced 6.5% on a 30 year fixed. is that it? Please advise.

RE: Ask The Experts: Focus on Housing
I'm not an expert but from what I derived the fifteen year at this rate would be the best generaly depending on your situation. You sound stable to me so I see no problem jumping on it now,it wont get any lower and will go up soon.
just ask questions if you have any doubt about anything, don't overpay on fees and if they don't like your questioning tell them you are going to someone else, after all your paying for their bills. just my thoughts..I don't know where Jill went, must be on vacation
